Proteena wakes up,
surrounded by Zymachi. "What was that noise? My head hurts, like if
someone were trying to erase my mind..." she asks.
Zymachi:- "It was central Unit..."
Proteena:- "Who is Central Unit?"
Z:- "It's a source directives come from. Idiot has been rebooted, he's waiting for directives..."
P:- "Can we communicate with Central Unit? We must avoid a new reboot, we don't want to lose our memory, don't we?"
In fact we see Zymachi pamper their mnemonic shapes again, only Idiot neglects them. |

| 34- Buoys
for Freedom. |

Yes,
it's possible to communicate with Central Unit. Zymachi take their
place on the Jellywhale, then start to sequence fragments of DNA that
fold into luminous buoys. We see the buoys as they are released by the
Jellywhale, as they disperse and dance in the stream. Some of them end
sucked up by a gigantic vortex. |

Scene
changes, we see doctor Hu performing the analysis again, spinning
Kerenskij's blood and placing the tube inside a machine. Then she sits
facing a screen and studies the results as they come out... she is
astonished! |

| 35- "Do Not
Reboot". |
| |

She
wakes Kerenskij and reports her last improvements. First she had seen
the recordings of professor's frantic antenna trimming. From the
images, it was possible to evaluate the lenght of the antennas, hence
their resonance frequency. With these data in hand, she had rebooted
the Zymachi using the radio signal as a "chord" instead of a single
note. "And in some way it worked, but with unexpected results. Look at
their feedback: this is the standard head of marker, here starts the
attachment, it's written in binary, first part is logical operator
<NOT>, then comes a sample of the reboot sequence..."
"Do not
reboot us..." says the professor after a moment of indecision.
Stupified, they comment the situation: Zymachi seem smarter than
expected, they make requests, take initiatives. Kerenskij has an
intuition: in his silent dialogue with the beings that have pervaded
him, there is a note of fear that could be reconducted to Zymachi. It's
the fear of an alliance. |
