Hu tries to calm
down the professor, but it's even hard to understand what he's talking
about.
Hu:- "Why did
you inject the Zymachi?"
Kerenskij:-
"There was something inside the tube that was trying to damage them.
Inside my body they will be safer, they will interact with my immune
system, that's what they were made for..."
H:- "But they weren't ready yet, you aborted the booting sequence..."
K:- "Well, try to complete it, you are the expert, aren't you!..."
H:- "WHAT was inside the tube?"
K:-
"I don't know... Maybe something related with Nestis, with my illness,
with the fact that networks are down all over the WORLD!.. Please...
restart the booting sequence... I'm so tired..." and he lays on a
camp bed, overwhelmed by evenments...

| 21- Proteena,
the Eighth Zymachi. |

Proteena
wakes up in the capsule forged by the Zymachi, that stand all around
her, connected by gentle sparks. She hears a sort of ascending
sequence, rythmically interrupted. She understands that they are
counting themselves, and that they pause when it's her turn. At the
right momrnt she thinks "Eight", and the nano machines express their
satisfaction by blinking underskin lights. A first contact is
established. |

| 22- Proteena
provokes Reaction. |
| |

Siren
riders have regrouped, though they've lost some comrades. They harpoon
the Jellywhale and try to open Proteena's capsule, but without result.
The rest of the commando starts to unwind the DNA strings that envelope
and protect the Zymachi. Nano machines seem unaware of danger, maybe
they just can't portray the situation. Proteena understands they
are all in danger, and tries to figure out a way to communicate. At
least she starts counting, first from 1 to 8, then from 1 to 7,
stepping downwards at each round. At the end she stays quiet. |

After a moment of
indecision, the nano machines start an intense enzymatic activity, we
see the Jellywhale reshape, some tubes stick ot of it's body,
then thousands of iridescent needles are shot in every possible
direction, mowing down the unfortunate commando. As the massacre is
completed, the Jellywhale restores it's prior configuration, and the
Zymachi quietly repair their uncombed companions. |
